The Sharlin Class Warcruiser Dogato is a ship of the Minbari Federation's fleet in the fictional Babylon 5 science fiction universe. The Dogato participated in the Battle of Sector 83.

[edit] Battle of Sector 83

In the weeks leading up to the end of 2261, the Shadows began openly attacking the ships of the various younger races. But they were not attacking a certain area of space. Because it seemed safe, this area was soon filled with refugee ships. The Shadow's plan was to wait until the area was packed with refugees and then attack, presumably in order to demoralize their opponents by wiping out the largest possible number of refugees at one stroke.

In response, Captain John Sheridan and Ambassador Delenn assembled a large fleet of ships from a number of the younger races, and led them to sector 83. Sheridan and Delenn traveled to the site on board the Dogato. Delenn showed him the tactical command center - the large holographic chamber that every Sharlin class ship carries. Delenn told Sheridan that he would command the battle from there. Sheridan, unfamiliar with Minbari technology, was uncertain how he could command the battle with no viewscreens or other controls. Delenn assured him he would understand once the battle began.

On board the White Star, Commander Susan Ivanova and Marcus Cole detected the Shadows scout ship in the area. They were able to engage and destroy the scout, but were damaged themselves. Right afterwards, the Shadows came into the area in force. Even though it meant certain detection, they signalled the fleet.

Once the signal was sent, the Dogato and the rest of the fleet jumped into normal space. Once the Dogato entered normal space, the tactical command center displayed the area around the ship. Sheridan and Delenn observed the battle and transmitted orders to the various ships. Even though the cost was heavy, the younger races were able to drive off the Shadows.
