Doe Network

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Doe Network is an organization of volunteers who work with law enforcement to connect missing persons cases with John/Jane Doe cases.

From their website:

"The Doe Network is a volunteer organization devoted to assisting Law Enforcement in solving cold cases concerning Unexplained Disappearances and Unidentified Victims from North America, Australia, Europe and Mexico. It is our mission to give the nameless back their names and return the missing to their families. We hope to accomplish this mission in three ways; by giving the cases exposure on our website, by having our volunteers search for clues on these cases as well as making possible matches between missing and unidentified persons and lastly through attempting to get media exposure for these cases that need and deserve it."

The website features "cold case" disappearances that have been on the books at least 9 years, and unidentified victims cases up to and including the year 2005. Their website lists 41 successful identity resolutions.[1]

[edit] The North American Missing Persons Network

The North American Missing Persons Network (NAMPN) is a volunteer run site that was launched in January 2005. The site is run by Doe Network volunteers. The NAMPN is devoted to bringing attention to both child and adult missing persons cases in Canada and the United States. It is their mission to return the missing to their families. They hope to accomplish this mission by giving the cases exposure on their website to the general public and all those working to solve missing persons cases as well as assisting both loved ones of missing persons and law enforcement in their searches when requested.
