[edit] Golden Torch
Hi Docludi. Thanks for dropping a line on my talk page to find out more about how articles are created here. For starters, I'd suggest looking over some of the links provided above, which is good introductory material. I know that Wikipedia has a lot of complex features to learn, and the guides above can make it a little easier.
Regarding your article on the Golden Torch, as you know, you created it three times. The first time it was deleted with an explanation of it being a vanity page, which is Wikipedia terminology for a page that deals more with a personal interest which may not meet the guidelines suggested at Wikipedia:Notability. My deletions were done the second and third times, which were done as a standard procedure when a deleted article is recreated without any significant changes.
As you've already found out, the deletion process can be somewhat abrupt and confusing at times, and I apologize for that. I've restored the page as a part of your userspace (the area here at Wikipedia that "belongs" to you); you can find it at User:Docludi/Golden Torch. In order to keep it as an article, though, it needs some work to better demonstrate why the Torch is something of encyclopedic merit. In other words, there needs to be a justification for it to have an article here. Expanding the article to include more history on the Torch would be helpful — for example, if the Torch has been home to some important performing artists or DJs, that would be good material to include.
I'll keep an eye on the page to see how things come, and don't hesitate to contact me again if you need any help. Once you feel that the article is ready to be placed back into the encyclopedia, let me know and I'll make it happen — the main reason I'm not doing so now is because it'd probably get deleted again by an another administrator who was unaware that you're still working on it. [edit] Wrott & Swindlers
Wrott & Swindlers has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt the subject might not be notable enough for an article. Please review Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability for the relevant concerns. An example of notability guidelines can be found at Wikipedia:Notability (websites). If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so.
If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod notice, the deletion process will stop, but if an editor is still not satisfied that the article meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for consensus. [edit] Twisted Wheel
The song lyrics in the Twisted Wheel article are uncited, and seem out of place in a serious encyclopedic article. The link to the site with the maps is already in the External Links section, so there is no real need to have that link in the body of the article, unless a specific page of that site is used as a reference. However, the link I deleted was merely a link to the front page, which isn't very useful as a reference in that particular sentence. The reader shouldn't have to search through a site to find the specific information that is being used to support a statement. The section of text with the improperly-formatted title From "Whitworth Street" is uncited and seems to be pasted directly from a book or website. The other section I deleted, saying soul all-nighters were the first raves, is uncited opinion, otherwise known as original research. Spylab 10:21, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hello
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for writing the article Darrell banks. Unfortunately, it doesn't conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new articles, and has, as a result, been marked for deletion. However, please do not be disheartened by what may or may not happen to your first article, if indeed it is deleted - please continue to edit Wikipedia and add articles which conform with the inclusion criteria. For help, see Help:Contents. To find out what will probably be deleted, see Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Thanks, and if you have any questions, please ask them on my user talk page. To do this, click on my name (just after this sentence) and click discussion at the top and then the (+) button at the top. Kariteh 08:25, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
