Do You Like Worms?

"Do You Like Worms?" (aka "Roll Plymouth Rock", "Bicycle Rider", "Do You Dig Worms?", or simply "Worms") is a mostly uncompleted Beach Boys song originally composed and intended for the ill-fated SMiLE project.

It has been long theorized that the song was part of the "Americana" portion of the album. In its eventual 2004 completed form for Brian Wilson's re-recorded version of SMiLE (and then titled "Roll Plymouth Rock"), the lyrics suggest a plight of immigrants migrating throughout America and encountering the American Indian, its journey ending in Hawaii.

The song's chorus consists of the "Bicycle Rider" motif, a recurring theme throughout the album (and mainly in the track "Heroes and Villains").

The original raw recording (as heard in the Beach Boys compilation box set Good Vibrations: Thirty Years of The Beach Boys) was a mix of the lead vocals & instrumental track (recorded October 18, 1966) and the background vocals (recorded the following December of that year).

The 2004 arrangement adds long lost lyrics by Van Dyke Parks.
