[edit] About the song
The music was composed by the Late Madan Mohan and recreated by his own son Sanjeev Kohli and is sung by Sonu Nigam and Lata Mangeshkar.
Although the song is a one whole complete song in the movie it is broken into two parts and each come during different situations. The similarity as that both songs come at a time when Veer and Zaara are about to separate.
[edit] Music video
The video is firstly set at a train station and is then set in a mosque in Pakistan.
[edit] 1st situation
The first part of the song comes when Veer (Shahrukh Khan) brings Zaara (Preity Zinta) to the station and she walks away to re-unite with her fiance Raza (Manoj Bajpai). Whilst Veer and Zaara separate they see each other singing to them. There is a brief gap when we are taken to the present day and see Saamiya Saddiqui (Rani Mukerji) leaving the ageing Veer. The song then returns to the previous situation in which Veer and Zaara finally bid farewell to each other.
[edit] 2nd situation
The second part of the song comes when Veer convinces Zaara to marry the man her parents chose, Ed Eizember. The couple bid farewell to each other for the second time.
