Hello!
My name is Dna-Dennis and I am from Sweden. I've been contributing to Wikipedia since 2005 since I think it is a splendid project, and since I believe I have knowledge to offer. My interests are quite a few; the main being science, history, literature and music, and I believe strongly in the concept of Fair use.
The last couple of years I have been heavily studying World History - from pre-history to modern, and 20th century history in particular. Therefore I try to contribute to historical articles in the best way I can, and World War I & II in particular. A funny thing is that when I was younger I was completely uninterested in the world wars, until I grew older and realized the immense impact they have had on our world. Why am I so interested in history nowadays? Well, because I have a strong desire to find out in detail what has happened, read different opinions on why in order to build my own view on the events of humankind.
Particular interests:
- History: General history, Ancient Rome, World War I, World War II
- Science: General physics, Astronomy, Particle physics, Artifical Intelligence, Animals
- Arts: Literature, Modern Music, Classical Music, Film, Photography
- Humor: George Carlin (everything), Bill Hicks, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Futurama
- Work interests: Research, Development & Design.
Quotes I like:
- "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."-George Santayana, The Life of Reason
- "When bad men combine, the good must associate."-Edmund Burke, Thoughts on the Cause of Present Discontents
- "When you lose, don't lose the lesson." -H. Jackson Brown, Life's Little Instruction Book
- "Choose your battles." -unknown origin
- "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." -Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1st Inaugural Address 1933
- "If Hitler invaded Hell I would make at least a favourable reference to the devil." -Winston Churchill, June 1941
