[edit] Micropunk
Hey, I saw this new article you created. Can we get more context here? If this term is in general usage, how would anyone know where it came from? You might want to read WP:NOT; it's possible this article is the type of thing covered there. If so, no big deal, but the article will probably get deleted. Please let us know more about this so we know what should be done with the article. Thanks! Friday (talk) 23:44, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
I'm very glad you're here and I'm sure you have a lot to contribute, but unfortunately we can't have articles like Akbar (band). This is no offense to the band, but it lacks verifiability and may be considered vanity by some editors. Please take a look at WP:NOT before creating new articles. Friday (talk) 23:53, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I know them and they're pretty well known around them parts, I thought an article may be interesting, but I do think it falls under vanity. Delete at will. I didn't know we couldn't have definitions either. Micropunk is a well known term around here and carries many connotations, but perhaps it should be removed. Dmron 00:10, 27 August 2005 (UTC)

- Thanks for being understanding, and it's not a big deal. The band almost certainly fails WP:MUSIC guidelines. Micropunk I don't know anything about, but I found very little by googling on it. The thing to keep in mind is that Wikipedia is never meant to be the first place a particular thing is documented. It's meant to rely on other previously existing sources. I'll take care of getting them removed. And again, welcome, and I hope you don't get put off by this. Your contributions to other articles look valuable and we're happy to have you here. Likewise with the "US Keyboard" thing. That really wasn't an article. Still, welcome aboard. Take a moment to read the tutorials to learn more. Talk pages are a click away if you have questions. Best, Lucky 6.9 01:31, 24 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] NowTowns
Hi, I just saw your message (didn't notice it at first as there was another new one after it). As far as "redundant" goes, well, I think in the Corvallis article, there was already a link to it, so two made it redundant. I'm in the middle of something, but I'll take a look at why you think it should be added back when I get a chance. Katr67 03:03, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- BTW, thanks for taking this up in talk instead of just continually adding the link. OK, you say newtowns.com is your site. Well, please read Links normally to be avoided, especially "A website that you own or maintain". I deleted your link from Corvallis when I saw it appear the second time, as adding one's link more than once (at the top of the list) is behavior of typical a link spammer. At that time, I didn't analyze the other links on the page. I did just go ahead and delete the "welcome to Corvallis" link, since it "does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article...would have once it becomes an example of brilliant prose" (see link above), while retaining the tourism link, as it is quasi-governmental: "The Bureau is a nonprofit 5O1 (C6) tourism development organization which contracts with the City of Corvallis to develop long term tourism growth compatible with the Corvallis lifestyle." Whatever the "Corvallis lifestyle" is. The hiking link I'm deleting on the grounds that it "contains factually inaccurate material or unverified original research." I think your site might fall under WP:OR as well. If you really think your link still fits on the Corvallis page, I'd take it up and the Corvallis Talk page and see what the other editors say. Thanks! Katr67 20:11, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
