[edit] Purpose

This is a version of the {{dlw}} template for pointing dead links to the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine which works better for in-line links without disturbing the flow of paragraph text. --James S. 05:46, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Is it just me, or does this template make no sense? "archive link was dead"? Isn't that just a little misleading. It sounds to me like it's saying the archive link was dead, when in fact the archive link is here as a replacement. English has changed considerably since I was last in school if this template means what it is intended to mean. - 211.28.79.52 02:49, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
Agreed, and the formatting does not go with the superscripting convention. I'm listing this one as "Problematic" at WP:WPILT. — SMcCandlish [talk] [cont] ‹(-¿-)› 06:00, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
