Nick Chand (born September 11, 1987 in Suva, Fiji) better known as DJ TakeOver, is an upcoming DJ from Surrey, BC, Canada.
The style of music consists of mash-ups between upbeat Hindi filmi music & Hip Hop tracks from most North American artists.
Several tracks include instrumentals from such artists as Lil' Flip, Chris Brown, Juelz Santana, Trick Trick, T.I., Lil' Wayne, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Jennifer Lopez, Don Omar, Cassidy, Amerie, Mariah Carey, Bow Wow, Lloyd Banks, B2K, P. As of January 2007, the start of the first solo debut album began and on June 1, 2007, NON! (Now Or Never) was announced. Confirmed first single so far is the 3rd edition of the popular Welcome To Atlanta/"Salaam" series.
DJ TakeOver's first 'crowd-pleaser' single, "Chand Sifarish (Lose Control)" along with "Jhalak Dikhlaja (Me & U), were released in summer 2006. Among all, both moved on to become the most requested as a download through DJ TakeOver Music on Imeem.
Also, Welcome To Atlanta/Salaam series began that same summer. Along with "Chand Sifarish (Lose Control)" & "Jhalak Dikhlaja (Me & U), it was the lead single on that mixtape. The series consists of an intro into the track from the instrumental of "Welcome To Atlanta" - Ludacris ft. Jermaine Dupri and a Filmi song with the word "Salaam" in the chorus lyrics. Other notable series are Dhoom Machale & Dhoom Again with the carry-on of "How We Do" - The Game instrumental from the first to the second one.
