That paragraph is not cited. And I looked for a citation and there isn't any so how do you know it is true? —Preceding unsigned comment added by TelusFielder (talkcontribs) 02:02, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Djsasso you still haven't explained why you re-added the unsourced paragraph. TelusFielder (talk) 21:09, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Disambig

Thanks for dropping a note on my page. Could you direct me to a specific Wiki policy discussing middle names, as I could only find the biographies section of WP:DAB#NAME. Thanks. --Masonpatriot (talk) 15:50, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I'll see if I can find the exact link, I know it comes up often. I just know the order things should be named are 1. Name most commonly known by (ie Bill Clinton) 2. Full name (ie William Jefferson Clinton) 3. Brackets (ie Bill Clinton (politician)). -Djsasso (talk) 16:05, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
After looking around a bit more, I will have to disagree with your interpretation. See this: Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people). Pay particular importance to the "Middle names and abbreviated names" section that reads: "Adding middle names, or their abbreviations, merely for disambiguation purposes (that is: if this format of the name is not the commonly used one to refer to this person) is not advised." Thoughts? Thanks. - Masonpatriot (talk) 16:48, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
I definately see where you are coming from. Personally I don't feel its that big a deal, but I know I have seen edit wars happen over how they are named so I was just giving you a heads up if other people were to get upset with you. It may be what I thought was a policy was more a general opinion of most people on wiki. I know there is a great disdain for bracketed disambiguators. I am at work so I don't have a bunch of time to try and find where I have seen it, but when I do I will let you know. That being said feel free to use whichever method you prefer. Now that I think about it, it might be the fact that when you have two Joe Smiths that play hockey you need to do something other than Joe Smith (ice hockey). So I think I may be thinking of cases where there are two people that would both have the same brackets...that could be it. -Djsasso (talk) 17:05, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Montreal Canadiens

It appears we've an anon problem on this & other Canadian related articles. He/she's now got 2 IP addresses, Yikes. GoodDay (talk) 20:51, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh don't worry about it. This guy has been going at it for a year or more. He is a frequenter. We just often revert and move on. He/she has gone through a number IPs. -Djsasso (talk) 20:57, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
It's sure annoying though (now he's got a third IP address). GoodDay (talk) 21:00, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
I assume he is on dial up so they just disconnect and reconnect to get a new one. -Djsasso (talk) 21:01, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Is there a way to block all these IP addresses (or prevent him/her from creating them)? He/she is becoming a 'major' disruptor now. GoodDay (talk) 21:25, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Nope, but I can protect the page. -Djsasso (talk) 21:27, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Ah hah; I forgot about that. GoodDay (talk) 21:29, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Actually I was wrong, I now found a way to block a range, so if he keeps it up I will block him again for disruption. -Djsasso (talk) 14:27, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Likely another IP he or she is using... 65.94.225.164 Dbrodbeck (talk) 03:24, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

I wonder how many articles will have to be semi-protected, before that anon ding-o-ling leaves? GoodDay (talk) 13:45, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Just curious

Hello Djsasso. Concerning that pro-Quebec anon disruptor - That fellow, can no longer use his 'previous' IP address numbers, each time he get a 'new' one, right?GoodDay (talk) 19:36, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Well IP addresses are randomly assigned each time you connect to the internet. On dial up that means everytime you dial in. For people on cable or adsl it can be months or years between ip changes. But yes you could stumble on the same IP numerous times. But there is no way to pick and choose what you get unless you are the one controlling how the IP addresses are assigned. -Djsasso (talk) 19:39, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

So, the chances of him/her appearing with a previous IP address, within 12 months; would be extremely rare. GoodDay (talk) 19:43, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Most likely. Eventually he will get bored of it. They usually do. This one has mostly only been really active over the last few weeks. But I am sure he is the same guy that comes around once in a blue moon changing flags. -Djsasso (talk) 19:53, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Okie Dokie. PS- I've requested 'semi-protection for Jacques Parizeau and Têtes à claques articles. GoodDay (talk) 19:59, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

His range is now blocked for a week. -Djsasso (talk) 20:09, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

40K Radio

Hi, you deleted my article 5 minutes after I made it, added a Hangon template, and said on the forum that I wou make it better very soon. I would appreciate it if you gave me a few minutes to make my project more relevant. thanks Captain0loken (talk) 20:22, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Deletions that quick are not uncommon. I did note that you said you would make it better, but as it stands it fails to meet WP:WEB. It also fails WP:COI as it sounds like you are on of the people that are mentioned in the article. And it also smacked of advertising. It was a valid speedy. That being said you could work on the article in your sandbox and then move it to main article space once you are completed so that others don't end up speedying it as well. -Djsasso (talk) 20:32, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Then how do I make my page better when it is deleted in minutes. I am not one of the people on the show, or trying to advertise it, merely commenting on the variety of the 40K fanbase, and adding information on an imprtant aspect of the hobby. Captain0loken (talk) 20:39, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
I will restore it for now to give you the chance to make it better. -Djsasso (talk) 20:40, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Re this deletion, it was in the middle of an AfD...did you mean to close the discussion as WP:SNOW as well?  Frank  |  talk  20:53, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, here is the AfD.  Frank  |  talk  20:56, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I totally put through an edit to close the debate and it said it went through. Wierd. I have closed it again. -Djsasso (talk) 20:59, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Cool, thanks.  Frank  |  talk  09:29, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: Thanks

No problem. I reverted a piece of vandalism yesterday on the Stars article, wondering when the dam would break. Resolute 21:25, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Gohar Mumtaz

Why was gohar mumtaz deleted from wikipedia? WaleedDa1 (talk) 01:37, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

It had no reliable sources that could be found. -Djsasso (talk) 01:46, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
