Tag & Assess 2007 is now officially over, with slightly under 68,000 articles processed. The top twenty scores are as follows:
Although the drive is officially closed, existing participants can continue tagging until January 31 if they wish, with the extra tags counting towards their tally for barnstar purposes. We'd like to see what lessons can be learned from this drive, so we've set up a feedback workshop. Comments and feedback from participants and non-participants alike are very welcome and appreciated. |

[edit] Latour-Maubourg
Hi Djmaschek,
Just dropping a quick note on your new article on the Battle of Usagre. Can you check to see which Latour-Maubourg was the French commander. There were two, Marie Victor (to whom you've linked), and Marie-Charles. I'm pretty sure that the one with Soult was Marie-Charles, not Marie Victor (Marie-Charles was at both Albuera and Gebora). Unfortunately, no article exists for Marie-Charles, and I haven't been able to find out enough to create a stub.
Worth checking though. Regards. Carre (talk) 08:23, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Never mind, I've done a load of digging, and it seems my sources are the ones that are wrong – Oman and Fortescue, believe it or not. Marie-Charles was an infantry commander, and it was indeed Marie Victor with Soult. Carre (talk) 09:06, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

- Hello again – thanks for the response, and yes, that was the right place to put it :) Peninsular War articles are fun, aren't they! I finally sorted out the Latour-Maubourg confusion, but it took your Usagre article to make me see the error: since both Oman and Fortescue, two of the best historians of the era got it wrong, I'd never considered checking which of the brothers it was, but your article made me look around further. Keep up the good work on those new articles. Carre (talk) 17:07, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Crusades task force
Hi Djmaschek, I've created a Crusades task force as part of the Middle Ages WikiProject, and I thought you might be interested in helping out. Adam Bishop (talk) 10:04, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- There's no obligation to do anything if you join; it's very casual, more like a small gathering place for resources and for people who have an interest in the subject, no matter how small. I mean, there is no way anyone would be kicked out for not doing anything! But you don't have to join at all, it doesn't really matter, I was just trying to find everyone I could think of who has been working on crusade articles lately. For the Fulcher translation, I got it from my university library. I would definitely never find that in a book store! Adam Bishop (talk) 04:10, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Your message
In all likelyhood I simply missed the two notes at the bottom, it wasn't meant as a slight. You can remove the template if you wish, although the article would benifit from additional inline citations. TomStar81 (Talk) 02:52, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ayyubid-Crusader War
Hey man, just wanted to say I really think this campaign box should only go from Montisgard to the fall of Jerusalem. Trying to lump in things like Arsuf and the Sixth crusade with it just doesn't work. Thought I mention it rather than just change it.
Great work on the battles by the way mate! :) --Tefalstar (talk) 17:35, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hey man, I know you hadn't added all the other stuff to the campaign boxes, just thought I run it past you 'cus I know you've been working on them. Do you reckon the Seljuk and Zengid boxes should be merged, because personally I think it confuses people who aren't familiar with the dynasties. Afterall, they were all Seljuks. What do you think? Cheers --Tefalstar (talk) 11:41, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
-
- I think a good solution would be to have the Seljuk box show all the battles and explain on the Zengid page which battles within the Seljuk-Frankish war were actually waged by Zengi and his dynasty. Having them in two separate places isn't an option in my opinion. --Tefalstar (talk) 12:13, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Battle of Bayonne
Great articles all around. That bit I plucked from Gates; I'll throw the ref in now. Just being lazy. Cheers, Albrecht (talk) 02:19, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Again: I've tinkered with little things here and there. For instance, I moved Siege of Tarragona (1813) to the Catalonia campaignbox since events in eastern Spain were largely isolated from the principal allied campaigns and certainly from the Vitoria/Bidassoa operations. Don't hesitate to inform me if you disagree with any of these moves or to correct any errors; I'm bound to slip up sooner or later. Albrecht (talk) 17:59, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Forbelet
I guess the problem is that a lot of these battles just don't have names; they went out on campaign all the time so it wasn't anything special. We'll figure something out...by the way, did you see Military history of the crusader states? Since Ayyubid (etc)-Crusader War are also not found in the literature, Srnec merged them all into one article (but hasn't redirected anything there yet). Adam Bishop (talk) 08:51, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hey man, just quickly re:Forbelet. Tyerman talks about it as Saladin's 1182 offensive as I recall. A title like that would better describe the 3 parts designed at pushing back the Islamic forces perhaps? --Tefalstar (talk) 12:14, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
