All-Conference SMC 2006-07

Jonathon Shively (born May ___, 1989 in Orlando, Florida) grew up in Hiawassee, Georgia. Both cities are located in the north-eastern region of the state of Georgia.

Son of Chip and Janet Shively, Jonathon made his way into the athletic world. He began at a young age and kept up all his work until he reached the point where he is today. At the brink of his senior year, he is ready to begin his college career as a walkon at Appalachian State University. He will have tough competion with Armanti Edwards, the current starting upcoming junior quarterback for the Mountaineers.

On September 12, 2007, Shively appeared in his own article in the news source for the entire western region of North Carolina [1]. In this article, the Citizen-Times called him a prime ripened quarterback, because of his intangable level of play.

He was honored with all-conference titles in both his senior and junior years, (for three separate positions: defensive back during his junior year, and quarterback and punter in his senior year).

[edit] Football career

A great-grandson of the legendary Bernie Shively, former athletic director at the University of Kentucky, Jonathon has a deep family history of athletic ability. After playing Youth League Football for a few years, Jonathon's family thought it was time to step up and go somewhere his team's record would reflect his athletic ability. They moved to Hayesville when Jonathon was in the eighth grade.

During Shively's senior season (2008), he passed for 1887 yards, rushed for 644 yards, scored 17 passing touchdowns, and 10 rushing touchdowns.[2][3] respectively.

[edit] Basketball career

Jonathon is an athlete in many sports, including basketball. He scored 196 points in the 2007 season.[4] On a team with a 17-4 record, Shively looks to have a great season ahead as they enter the playoffs.
