[edit] Historicity of Jesus
What, you don't think the Pauline Epistles section should be there at all? Good luck in removing it. Even though it isn't directly related to the article, you'll get reverted by CheeseDreams. Have fun! I've already put a disputed tag on them. As always, be bold and if you feel that a section shouldn't be there then remove it but make a note why on the talk page. - Ta bu shi da yu 05:53, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Let's try it. Two of us should be able to out revert him. But we'll talk first. DJ Clayworth 05:55, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Talk:Ambition (card game)
has been repeatedly page-moved, first by User:VFD (I fixed those moves) and now by User:4FD, whom I just blocked. I don't have time right now to fix those -- I have to go on Real-Life patrol. Would you look into it? He will probably create another ID to continue, so it might not be productive to fix it immediately. Thanks for any help you can provide. [edit] thanks for fixing the Ravitch article...
You're pretty good. I was thinking I had screwed up the case on his name, but it looked perfect, because you fixed it a few seconds after I saved it incorrectly. Morris 20:05, Dec 20, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Email address
You mentioned that you don't want to give out your email address when opening an account on a certain forum. Have you used http://mailinator.com/ before? (Unfortunately, it appears to be down at the moment.) Basically you can make up any address you like, such as pinkbunny@mailinator.com and check your mailbox on the web. Zero privacy, but good enough as a single-use address in a number of situations. Cheers, --MarkSweep 06:57, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Meanwhile, I'm using a despammed.com forwarding address. It doesn't cut out all spam, it occasionally cuts non-spam, once every three months or so it goes down for a few hours and kills all incoming messages, but it costs nothing, it's fine for my purposes, and The Boss (no relation) is a Good Guy. -- Hoary 03:48, 2004 Dec 24 (UTC)
[edit] Language of no
Could you please restore Language of no? It wasn't a CSD. --fvw* 14:29, 2004 Dec 24 (UTC)
- I believe it was and is. See Talk:Language of no. DJ Clayworth 14:36, 24 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] 4chan
consensus has been (mostly) reached on 4chan. See the talk page for the decision, and could you unprotect so changes can be carried out? I think we got input from most serious non-anon authors of the current text. hfool 00:27, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

- Frankly I would ignore him. He doesn't seem to be doing anything else, so I suspect if we just pay him no attention he will go away. I'm going to be keeping an eye on him anyway. DJ Clayworth 05:34, 4 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Anon
Hi. I was just reading your talk page and wondered what "anonymous post removed" was all about. Im not trying to be stupid, I'm just new. Thanks!--Scott Peterson 11:49, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Hi. No trouble. And may I say "welcome to Wikipedia". I hope you'll have a good time here. How's the editing going so far?
- An anonymous user posted an obscene and insulting message to me, which I didn't want hanging around in my talk page. However it's normal policy NOT to remove things from talk pages, as some people try to delete things to make an argument seem to be going in their favour. So rather than just edit it out I replaced it with the message you see. If you really want to know what the insults were (and they aren't very interesting) you can look at the history. DJ Clayworth 18:50, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image Copyright Tags
I've been tagging images with copyright tags and came across Image:RidgewayPath.jpg – which btw is a great picture – which you uploaded but has no copyright tag. I've tagged it as {{GFDL}} for now. If you have qualms with that, please feel free to re-tag it yourself. Thanks for the image too! --MaxPower 15:04, 2005 Jan 11 (UTC)
- No problem with GFDL. Thanks. DJ Clayworth 17:51, 11 Jan 2005 (UTC)
[edit] The Eastern Orthodox Cosmological model
Hi DJ,
First off, let me say that the text you read was rather harsh and a bit misleading.
In order to answer your question I need to explain something. The Orthodox Church believes that man was created in a state of possible perfection. Sexuality, as we understand it, did not exist. Had we not fallen from that state sexuality would not be what it is today. Our current perceptions about sexuality and indeed, about the whole universe are myopic because of the fall of mankind, the sin of Adam and Eve. This is constantly expressed in Orthodoxy by our rejection of carnality. When we fast, when we prepare for communion, when we celebrate the Liturgy, we are required to refrain from sex in order to recapture the original state of mankind within ourselves. St Paul understood this when he explained that the best path is one of Virginity. At the same time, our current state is one of fallen mankind and as a result we have these nagging and powerful carnal drives. And so, St paul tells us that sex within the context of marriage is allowed as an alternative to sin. This is likewise backed up by St John Chrysostom. So a more correct way to state the Orthodox position is that the Best path is one of virginity, but if you can't handle it, then get married, its OK.

[edit] Stand Watie/source
I came across this while doing a Random page exercise. There is already an article Stand Watie (A). I see that yours is lifted wholesale from http://www.nativeamericans.com/StandWatie.htm which certainly gives more info than A, but also contains much that disqualifies it as a Wiki article - far too much other info which can be more easily found in all the other articles about the American Civil War It wasn't until I had done a "hatchet job" on it that I discovered the existing article! Anyway, may I suggest that you look through what I have now made of it all?
If you agree with what I've done, I think it ought to be merged, or even replace A
Peter Shearan 08:43, 15 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- DJ I think you must have forgotten writing the following comment at the head of the article:
- I rescued this extensive biography of Stand Watie from the cache pages of Google. Since it was by far the most extensive biography I could find I decided it shouldbe preserved. If there was somewhere else I could put it I would. DJ Clayworth 19:33, 24 Mar 2004 (UTC)
The article is called Stand Watie/source - but you will now find my rewrite, and not your comment, of course. You need to look under the article history I guess Peter Shearan 06:19, 16 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- My goodness, I'd forgotten that completely. Stand Watie was one of the first things I wrote on Wikipedia, and the only source I could find was in the cache pages of Google. Rather than lose the text I just pasted it into Stand Watie/source, intending to come back and use it for a more extensive rewrite later. I never did, of course. Nowadays I would put it on a subpage of my talk page. Stand Watie/source was never intended to be an article in its own right. Rather than rewrite it I would merge the info into Stand Watie and delete the source. DJ Clayworth 06:27, 16 Jan 2005 (UTC)
what do you mean by ur test has been reverted? what test? who areyou? i am just looking around the encyhoclbpedia.
y did u git rid of my stuff?
it was funn yhow randy moss did that stuff so i thot that it should go in the encylospedie.
- If you really think it's important put it in the article Randy Moss. DJ Clayworth 03:33, 17 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] User:170.211.237.1
Hi DJ,
I noticed you giving User talk:170.211.237.1 a warning for vandalism. In fact he has already had two 24hr blocks (once by gadfium and once by me). So far all their edits have been vandalism and they are gathering quite a list at Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress#170.211.237.1. So it might be more appropriate to make that another block. -- Solipsist 18:51, 25 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- It was a close call, but in fact he/she hasn't done anything since I warned him/her. I usually like to give one warning just before a block. Often all the vandal needs to know is that they can't do this without being noticed and they give up. DJ Clayworth 14:49, 26 Jan 2005 (UTC)
[edit] SASE
I thought that tyhe title needed to be caps'ed because it is often appervated using those letters; however, if I'm totally wrong, feel free to more it back if possible. humblefool 23:31, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- In general articles take lowercase letters unless normally capitalised. I agree with saving the capitalised version as a redirect. DJ Clayworth 18:48, 29 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] User:66.20.28.21
From WP:AN: This user, subject to arbitration committee restrictions has now created a userid User:Dixietwat (which British users will probably find funny) and is carrying on his agenda. DJ Clayworth 22:35, 7 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- You don't seem to be a developer. Can you provide proof of this? I've already been asked to take action against this user yesterday and proof of block evasion, will be enough to act on it. Mgm|(talk) 10:13, Feb 8, 2005 (UTC)
- I'm not a developer and I don't have proof, but User:Dixietwat has an editing pattern exceptionally similar to User:66.20.28.21. He made an identical bizarre addition to Republican Party of Kansas, also Bob Dole, Dwight D. Eisenhower and Kay Summersby. His very first edit on Wikipedia was to revert a reversion I had done on 66.20.28.21 and make a sarcastic comment about me.
- Also he is not technically under a block - the arbitration committee ruled that he could continue editing provided he did not make controversial edits and stayed away from certain articles. I gave 66.20.28.21 a 24hr block a few days ago for violating these conditions, and I've reverted his edits and reminded him that we are watching him. I wasn't going to give him another block unless he made more controversial edits, but if I did I would block both IDs. DJ Clayworth 15:02, 8 Feb 2005 (UTC)
[edit] from INDIA
hi DJ,
i amd 15 and i was initially trying to vandalize the talk pages of many users.Later I read your comments at 'Adolf Hitler' and at other places. I am truly inspired by your work. I am moved by it.I swear not to try destroying other's pages anymore. You have really changed me.I am really interested in getting into regular contact with you(maybe we can partner each other to poof off the other vandalizers!!!)
Anyway, I was wondering if you'd give me some info about hacking on the internet(read that you're a programmer). Can you tell me how it works? And some tips? Advice maybe.
And one more thing. I have no idea how these talk pages work.I have already made one. How do i use it? Post in a note at " usertalk:Nikhilbandale "
I WILL BE MOST GREATFUL IF YOU SEND ME A MAIL AT nikhilbandale@indiatimes.com AND ENLIGHTEN ME ON ABOVE MENTIONED TOPICS.

[edit] List of signatories to the death warrant of Charles I
Thanks for moving this article from underneath me - I thought the article name was already long enough as List of regicides, etc., but now it is even longer.
You'll note that the article contains, or was intended to contain, a section with details of associates who were prosecuted as Regicides even though they were not signatories. As such, the new name is inappropriate. Please revisit the article and remove this section.
Also, this article is filed in categ Regicide under Charles I. If you read the category description, you'll notice that the current scope of the category is Charles I - as such this article is a major article in the category as currently defined. Please revisit the category and adjust its scope. Thanks, Ian Cairns 19:39, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] HELP to deal with vandal
Hi DJ Clayworth. I need your help to deal with deliberate personal attacks and vandalism against me. This anon 84.154.xx.xx who vandalized earlier Safavids page 8 times before AllyUnion put a page protection, now switched on my userpage and simply terrorizes me with his stupid insults. Today he vandalized my userpage (see page history) 3 (THREE-!) times, this time operating under IP # 84.154.50.175. He not only vandalizes the page, but writes explicit personal insults. He even dared to insult me publicly again in Wikipedia vandalism in progress right after your and my posts. Please, take appropriate measures to punish this mad man. I very much hope you can help me to get rid of this importunate fly.--Tabib 19:06, 25 Feb 2005 (UTC)
