DJ Bouche, real name Andrew Lim, born October 18, 1987, is a musician interested in composing and remixing. He has particular interests in melodic trance and eurobeat, but likes all other genres just as well.
From his early childhood years, Chicago-born Andrew Lim has always loved music. After beginning piano at the age of six, he soon realized an interest in composing music. He learnt basic sequencing with his Yamaha PSR-510 since the age of 7.
After the family moving around a bit, he has ended up in Sydney's Western suburbs, Australia. At 10, he began experimenting with the world of MIDI and producing music electronically. He had found a love for producing music electronically. This expanded further when around age 11, Andrew Lim started production using freeware trackers. With this, he was able to experiment with the world of sampling.
During his tracking phase, he coined the name "DJ Bouche". At 16, he had abandoned most of his tracking ways and delved deeper into electronic music production with more advanced software such as FL Studio. After producing many tracks with this software released only to small private groups, he had decided that he wanted to become an electronic music producer or a video game music composer. Throughout this phase came out the beginnings of songs such as "Ambient Skies".
Recently DJ Bouche has tried other software such as Reason and attempted a remake of the song "Ambient Skies" but was unhappy with the result. During the course of using Reason he has made a few songs, not many have seen except private groups. He has moved back to FL Studio as he found it most comfortable.
Since the move back, he created more songs in the melodic trance genre such as "Revelation X" and the song "Horizon".
Mid-way through 2006 he has tried to compose songs with a "dream house" element such as the recent songs "Unknown Land" and "Fortress of Memories".
Also recently, he has made unofficial remixes of anime-related songs. These can be found at his website and his Haruhi website. He has also sequenced MIDIs of anime-related songs which can be found there.
Near the end of 2006 he met talented singer Himeka and plans to create music together having done several unreleased test mixes. He obtained "Nexus", a powerful rompler VSTi by reFX, known for their synthesizer VSTi "Vanguard", and has found an inspiration to start doing melodic trance tracks again, as evident with the latest songs, "Regenerate" (Dec 2006) and "Beyond the Gate" (Jan 2007).
