DJ Sopla

"DJ Sopla" (born Alexander Alcantara on September 14, 1975 in San Jose de Ocoa, Dominican Republic), is a noted Bronx and Washington Heights, NYC karaoke singer and troubadour.

DJ Sopla was the first-born of 4 children and always the clown. He moved to New York City in the early 1990's

No one knows for sure how he came about. What it is known is that his star grew in the Summer of 2006, when he debuted in la Nueva España Restaurant. His unconventional style catapulted him to fame and the heart of the public. He made famous his catchphrase "Sopla mami, sopla".
He performed in many karaoke bars in the Bronx, Washington Heights, and Punta Cana (La Nueva España and La Nueva Estrella to name a few). Everywhere he performed he caused a stir and the adulation of fans.

His arsenal of songs was varied, but mainly consisted of Bachatas. Songs like:
