DJ DMD was born in Port Arthur, Texas. This underground producer turned artist sold 75,000 copies of his second self-released album Twenty-Two: P.A. World Wide through his own label, Inner Soul Records. His first album Eleven provided the financing for his recored company and second release. He owns his own record store in Port Arthur. His hit single"25 Lighters", which features Lil Keke and the late Fat Pat, rose to Number #1 in the late 1990s.
