Sharad Raghav Rane (November 11, 1934— ), popularly known as Sha. Ra. Rane,[citation needed] is a Marathi writer.
Rane was born in Bhalod, a small village in Khandesh (Jalgaon). After his matriculation, he went to Jalgaon and studied for his B.A. (Honours) degree in Marathi at M.J. College. Later on he earned a master's degree in Marathi from Nagpur University. He served 31 years in D.N. College, Faizpur, in the Marathi department. He now lives in Faizpur. In his career in D.N. College, he got a Ph.D degree in Marathi from Pune University. He is known as a literary critic, a writer for children, and a research guide. He has had four Ph.D. students and 21 M.Phil. students, all in Marathi.
The government of Maharashtra honored his book Panchmukhi Pandu as the best children's book of the year 1986–87, and awarded him "Sane Guruji Puraskar".
His novel Korantichi Phule won the "Sneha Puraskar" from "Marathi Sahitya Sabha", Kolhapur, as the best book in the year 2001.[citation needed]
