Divya Desams
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Srivaishnava shrines that were sung about by Azhvars (divine saints) are called divya desams. There are 108 divya desams in total. Two of these are not in this material world - Parama padam (at God's holy feet) and ThiruppaRkadal (the Ocean of Milk where Vishnu resides). Of the remaining 106, 105 are located in India and 1 is in Nepal (SaLagramam).

Vaishnava Hindus, especially in South India, hope to visit all the 106 earthly divya desams in their lifetime, and aspire to reach the 2 spiritual divya desams in the hereafter.
