Divisional Public School & College, Sahiwal

Divisional Public School & College is a school in Sahiwal, Pakistan. The school was established in 1988 to provide standard and quality education to the students of Sahiwal and adjoining areas. It is a semi-government school. Lt.Col.Muhammad Arif Chohan was the founding Principal. Syyed Tajjamul Abbas was the first chairman of the school.

The School comprises large area. It has a single campus which further consists of four sub-campuses:

  • Nursery Campus - nursery and kindergarten classes
  • Junior Campus - preparatory to 5th grade
  • Senior Campus - boys from 6th to 12th grade
  • Girls Campus - girls from 2nd to 12th grade

Due to separate campuses for boys and girls there is no co-education. The Girls and Senior Campuses have their own libraries and science laboratories (physics, chemistry, biology and computer). There is an exclusive mosque and a multipurpose hall which is under construction. The school also owns a 64-seat bus.

The students were divided have been divided into four houses:

  • Jennah House
  • Tufail House
  • Farid House
  • Iqbal House

the school has done a great job under the control of lt col retd arif chohan but he was blamed that he had corrupter the chool account.but this blame was totally wrong Then the new Principal Mr.Col retd Muhammad Aslam Saleemy was appointed but he appeared unable to run the school then he was dismissed. After that Mr.Rana Safdar Yar Jhang was made the principal but he was dismissed due to wrong policies. Then Honourable Mr.Brig retd Syed Anwar-ul-Hasan Kirmani was appointed as principal and he is successfully running the school. He was made second time the principal of school.Mr.Syed Salimmuzzaman acted as acting principal of this great institutiton duringb absence of principal.

[edit] Co-curricular activities

Every year the school organizes co-curricular activities in the form of interhouse competitions. The competition activities include a Naat and Qirat competition, debates, declamation contests, games and athletics.
