In 2006, Division No. 8 had a population of 175,337 living in 71,425 dwellings, a 14.6% increase from 2001. The Census division has a land area of 9,909.31 km² (3,826 sq mi) and a population density of 17.7 inhabitants per square kilometer.[1]
