The picture shown at right is a D. ackermannii 'hybridus', not a true ackermannii species.
D. ackermannii species = growth never 3 sided; always flat. Stigma lobes red or purplish. Flower never campanulate.
D. ackermannii 'hybridus' = growth 2 or 3 sided; stigma lobes white. Flower campanulate.
In other words; the entire flower must be red without any white on it and the flower non-bell shaped. The growth must be 2 sided; flat only. These things are what describe a true D. ackermannii species. The ackermannii species is much rarer and the hybridus is what most people have.
