Now I think is so much better than the old one..
Who changed the official logo with the outline blue?? Is the official one...
Update
Someone won't let me update this :"Occasionally, Disney will secure the rights to air a picture released by a non-Disney studio, such as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Bob the Butler and Little Secrets." People, Disney Channel hasn't aired Bob the Butler, and Little Secrets for more than a year! Beethoven and The Littlest Vampire seem like better choices.
- I don't really think it matters, the selection of third-party movie varies greatly and some only air a few times and never again. The paragraph says such as so that could mean examples of third-party titles and not exactly examples of recently aired films, so either way seems valid. Thank You. 53180 00:44, 28 August 2007 (UTC)53180.
disney channel original series
what happened to the disney channel origianl series page, someome deleted alot of stuff! --Sirideroo--
Editing to Non-Disney Channel Shows
Can someone give me an example of how disney edited a show that they didn't made?
- An example would be cutting out a scene that the channel considers inappropriate or editing out a word considered appropriate by either re-dubbing the word or having a breif audio pause. Thank You. 53180 00:44, 28 August 2007 (UTC)53180.
Commercial Success
I think their should be an article on the commercial success of High School Musical, The Cheetah Girls 2 and Hannah Montana. We should include the Platinum plus soundtrack sales, DVD sales, high grossing concert tours and merchandise. 172.129.162.118 04:57, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- I honestly don't think that is a very good idea because having an article on commercial success doesn't make sense, however I think that informaiton would be fitting on each of those particular titles' pages. Thank You. 53180 00:44, 28 August 2007 (UTC)53180.

That's enough with the links. There are fansites that are good enough for everyone. --AOL Alex 23:37, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

So there is going to be both a That's so Raven: The Movie and a Phil of the Future Movie? When are they being released? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.94.46.100 (talk) 02:03, 12 December 2006 (UTC).

they no longer show lizzie mcguire or even stevens on disney channel, except for holiday marathons or whatever. they only play on wgn
WGN airs them. WAVY 10 17:14, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
THen why is "Boy Meets World" there?Pendo 4 12:49, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Pendo 4
Uh, let me think....MAYBE BECAUSE I HAS AIRED ON THE CHANNEL SINCE 2000!!!
You can watch Lizzie and Stevens on WGN Superstation, and Boy Meets World is on the website because they air it. It doesn't matter if it's on at 2:00 A.M. or P.M. 68.20.32.78 15:12, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
They did a mini-marathon of Even Stevens Saturday. WAVY 10 17:07, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Vandalism
There is blatent vandalism in the form of profanity in the time slot section that shows the layout for currently aired episodes through out the week. When an attempt to edit out the profanity in the edit page section, it is not there. I have placed protection on this page for the time being.
Fansites deleted
They've been deleted because someone keeps changing the order of it and now there's only one. No more fansites. --AOL Alex 17:35, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Disney Channel is the best show that has ever been on air. The sometimes lampoon the everyday life and make it really funny.
The re-orginasation of the links is a very wise move, congrats. -Coolmark18 08:24, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- A final notice. I do not think fansites are even necessary. --AOL Alex 20:09, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Money?
How does the disney channel make money for disney?
- The short answer is that the cable television operating companies pay Disney Channel a monthly fee for each household which receives the Disney Channel. Disney Channel is in about 90 million homes in the United States, and it was reported last year that the average license fee was 80 cents per month per subscriber. If that's correct, that would be about $72,000,000 in license fees per month, or about $864 million a year.
For the long answer, keep in mind that the expenses of producing the channel's original programming and acquiring rights to show movies and shows produced by other companies would get charged against that, as well as all the other expenses of operating the channel.
In addition, some of the channel's original programming generates significant merchandising income (DVDs of the shows, CD soundtracks, videogames based on the shows, etc.) but I don't know how exactly Disney apportions that income among its various companies and divisions. --Metropolitan90 07:24, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Not sure but...
Is there a way to contrast both the success of this channel in recent years with the criticism by many who feel that, in going to its current tween-oriented programming, it traded its heritage away?
If possible or impossible, please comment. WAVY 10 01:06, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- Let me clarify. Can this be done WITHOUT submitting vandalism? WAVY 10 22:09, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
Disney Channel page destroyed
The Disney Channel article has been completely vandalized and destroyed beyond repair by some Disney hater. I can't repeat what he said, but he completely erased the page and wrote some derrogatory comments against Disney. I request that this situation be rectified and whoever did this not be dealt with as soon as possible. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.199.215.4 (talk) 21:45, 2 April 2007 (UTC).
Serious Annoying Issues
People PLEASE stop making this article unnecessarily long. The things not needed, that have been recently added include:
- List of music videos, they’re always changing, this section is not important.
- Disney Channel games info put it on the main page
- Other one-night promotions, they are not necessary here.

I came to this page looking for information on series that Disney ran in the early 90's, such as Ocean Girl and Flash Forward and found nothing. Is there a page or list for non-Disney Channel Original Series that ran on the channel? If you're concerned about the length of this article, maybe there should be. 16 June 2007
Yeah, that's something I want to mention, someone has delted the page for Flash Forward, there used to be one under 1997 but now it is gone, however there has never ever been one for Ocean Girl as I don't think it is a Disney Channel Original Series.
Comcast Controversy
Was that porn clip only a Comcast incident or did it go across the channel wherever it was? WAVY 10 18:21, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Disney 411
does anyone know why they changed disney 411 to disney 365?
Because it suited more, I suppose.
They used to have "Disney's Secret Lab" back when Kingdom Hearts first came out, but I guess that didn't fit the image well enough.
Music Videos
I want there to actually be a page detailing the lists of songs by Disney Channel Stars. Also, there should eb a page stating the names of all Disney Channel Styars.
Future Projects
There should be a page detailing future projects on Disney Channel it could be general and people cpuld update when the upcoming thing has actually aired. The page should talk about upcoming films such as Dadnapped, Cheetah Girls 3, Twitches Too! Also it could talk about Wizrads of Waverly Place and Phineas and Ferb. Furthermore, it should say about upcoming programming blocks and upcoming remodels. Also, I concur with the comment that someone is vandalising as many pages have disappered, then reappeared and some haven't (example Twitches Too, disappeared then reappeared!") Tjhere should be mroe info on the network in general aswell!
You don't include anything about future events in Wikipedia, honey.
Then why is there lots of pages about upcoming films and all sorts of other stuff, so what you just said is absolutley not true.
If there were pages related to future projects, they must have been sourced or verified. I don't think this page is the place to put future projects, as even current works are on spin-off pages such as List of Disney Channel series. Thank You. 53180 00:44, 28 August 2007 (UTC)53180.
Actors
Ever notice that Disney recycles a small handfull of actors into all their shows? Cheap. 12va34 03:57, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- Other than Alyson Stoner, not really. WAVY 10 17:07, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Deleting "September 11 attacks" Section
Why was that section removed? Camille32 4:45 p.m., 8 August 2007 (UTC)
I don't know why it was deleted. I do not really think it was a good addition to the article because when you think big picture, "September 11 attacks" is not really a large part of Disney Channel. Thank You 05:38, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Concisebliss
SEPTEMBER 4
REGUALR SCHEDULE ON SEPTEMBER 4, LINK? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Yankeesrj12 (talk • contribs) 00:55, August 20, 2007 (UTC).
- I was not the one to add that piece of information, no source that I am aware of at this moment, however future scheduling suggests it will be back to a regular schedule, such as the Kim Possible marathon starting at noon each day, which are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, at which at this point in time the Disney Channel programs start airing at 10/9 central and not 12/11 central as the promotion states. That's just my thought on the subject. Thank You. 53180 00:44, 28 August 2007 (UTC)53180.
Citations
I'm new at this, but it seems there are no citations on this page. Is there a reason why there are none? If not, can I add a "citations needed" template? Thanks in advance. Monkeynoze 19:20, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Noone seems to be looking at the talk page, so I added the template. If I did this in error, please tell me why I am wrong so I can learn from my mistakes. Thank you. Monkeynoze 02:02, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- No, I think you were right to put the template up Monkeynoze, only because I have to agree a little bit that the page could use more citations, just not everywhere because some items are common knowledge. Just a few items I think could back up the information on tis article and the template makes other editors and readers aware of that. Good work Monkeynoze! Thank You. 53180 00:44, 28 August 2007 (UTC)53180.
Disney Channel Singers
Disney is pretty good at getting good singers. They seem to always have a singer on disney channel it was hilary duff then Christi carlson romano then aly and AJ then Hannah montana then jonas brothers how do they do this? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.202.103.39 (talk) 22:25, August 23, 2007 (UTC)
How does the Channel pay for itself?
I came here hoping to find the answer, but found nothing. Other channels like TNT, USA, et cetera support themselves with revenue-generating advertising, but Disney doesn't seem to have any. How do they pay for their various original shows? - Theaveng 20:28, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- Cable and satellite operators pay the channels (including ones that air commercials). There are few exceptions, like the C-SPANs and some religious channels. —tregoweth (talk) 01:49, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
-
- Right. It's called the "subscriber fee" which is about 50-100 cents per cable channel per home. But even that is not enough to operate a channel's costs, which is why stations like TNT, USA, SciFi, CNN, FX, etcetera run commercials. The billions of dollars collected from commercials allows those channels to pay for original series like The Closer, 4400, Galactica, and the Shield.
- Which leads me back to my original question: How does Disney pay for their various original shows? Is Disney's subscriber fee some unusually high amount like 5.00 per home? I was hoping to find the answer here at wiki, but it's not addressed. Thanks. - Theaveng 14:46, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- I have seen articles describing the overall Disney business plan and how they use Disney Channel to plug their own tie-in products. Disney Channel IS more expensive than other basic cable channels but basically Disney Channel is advertiser driven - the advertiser is exclusively Disney though, plugging other shows, movies, CDs and generally driving demand for Disney related products from all Disney business units. I will look for a cite we can use so we can add this info to the article. --NrDg 15:12, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Jim Henson's Muppets
Shouldn't they be airing Jim Henson's Muppets if they bought them off The Jim Henson Company —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.153.55.61 (talk) 02:02, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Protection
When I went to "Disney Channel" site on Wikipedia today, I realized that 3/4 of the page was changed so that "Disney Channel" was replaced by "Star Channel". Disney Channel obviously did not change their name, so I placed a protection banner on it to expire December 15, 2007. If any registered users believe that the banner is premature, please feel free to remove it before the 15th. The logo is also gone, so we need a new one of those. Thank you for your help and understanding. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Idol 2006 (talk • contribs) 13:54, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- The easiest way to get rid of a bunch of corruption is just to restore to an earlier good version - which I did. Just undoing the bad changes piecemeal runs the risk of not getting everything and not restoring good stuff that was removed. Also you need to request a page protect to get the page protected - see WP:RPP for information on how to do it - the tag is just a message, it doesn't do anything. In this case the vandalism appears light so I don't think a protect is indicated just yet. --NrDg 20:34, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
