Talk:Discount window

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In my view, Discount Window and Discount Rate are not the same, and should not be merged.

DW is an implementation detail of monetary policy (currently of great significance in US and European markets).

DR is a more fundamental accounting property/variable, with widespread use in financial maths/accounting for virtually any entity that is planning or recording their finances.

I agree, they are very, very different topics. I'm removing the tag since nobody is really discussing this further.—DMCer 08:30, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
