District 1 (Vietnamese: Quận 1) is an urban district (quận) of Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam.
District 1 is the financial, commercial, administrative center of Ho Chi Minh City. The city seat and many consulates general are located here. This district was planned by French architects in French Indochina period.
Tourist sights: the Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the Saigon Opera House, the Central Post Office, the City Hall, Pham Ngu Lao street, the former Republic of Vietnam President’s Reunification Palace. Most of the city's 5-star hotels and many expensive restaurants are located here.
