Display And Sight Helmet

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Display And Sight Helmet (DASH) is specially engineered fighter-pilot's helmet.

The DASH system enables the pilot to aim the target by simply looking at it. The DASH achieves this by measuring the line of sight relative to the aircraft, and then feeding the data into the on-board computer; the computer takes the data and acts accordingly, firing the weapon.

The adaptability of the DASH means that it can be fitted to equip any fighter jet and can accommodate advanced missiles and smart weapon lock-on envelopes.

In addition, the system can aid post-flight debriefing if used in conjunction with the optional CCD camera.
