Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas is the eighth Disney Vacation Club timeshare resort and the fifth located at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

The first phase opened in summer 2007 and included 134 remodeled units on the fifth and sixth floors of the existing Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, which opened in 2001. Later construction will add 324 units in a new building, Kidani Village, which will open in phases and is expected to be completed in 2009. New amenities are expected to include:

  • Sanaa - a 120-seat table-service restaurant with 24-seat lounge
  • Samawati Springs Pool - a 4,700-square-foot pool with slide and two whirlpool spas
  • Uwanja Camp - a 4,200-square-foot interactive water-play area
  • Maji pool bar
  • Johari Treasures merchandise shop
  • Survival of the Fittest fitness center
  • Safari So Good arcade
  • Two tennis courts, two shuffleboard courts, half basketball court
  • Barbecue pavilion

The development was announced in October 2006[1].
