Disk First Aid is a software utility made by Apple Computer, bundled with Mac OS, which verifies and repairs the directory structure of any HFS or HFS Plus hard disk or volume. Disk First Aid performs an analysis of the disk directory structures looking for specific types of damage that are known to occur and reports them. After analyzing the disk directory, Disk First Aid determines whether it is able to repair any damage that was detected. Disk First Aid can only repair damage that it was designed to repair. In Mac OS X both Disk Copy and Disk First Aid were replaced with Disk Utility.
