Those arguments with Giove need to be resolved. First I need to know what you want improved or changed. I've also got an arbitrator and the WuA watching, so there's nothing to worry about. Best, --Gp75motorsports 15:30, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- I really do support any conclusion to this matter. However Giove and myself already made an agreement wich he broke within 48 hours (with circa 15 edits). He accepted my proposal for us both to stop editing because of the possible restriction, but went on as per usual. This is just an example, I'm afraid, and I'm skeptical because of this, but will do my best.
- Every time there is a historical/ethnic conflict people (not excluding myself sometimes) are prone to irrational conversation and dubious arguments, Giove, however, is beyond all this, he just emakes a dozen edits and "explains" them with an uncompromising sentence or two, the reply to wich he does not answer. - Hope someone does. I think even most Italian editors realize he is behaving irrationally. With the possible exception of the so-called "esuli" (eng: "exiles") editors, people who left territories in Istria and Dalmatia since they were allocated to SFR Yugoslavia after WW2. They (or their children) have suffered much hardship and are profoundly anti-slav biased. DIREKTOR (TALK) 15:52, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

(unindent) Arbcom is short for Arbitration Committee. Their goal is to resolve edit wars, as well as attack wars. The link is WP:ARBCOM. The Requests for Arbitration is Wikipedia:Requests for Arbitration. I filed your war there, under the name "Dalmatia 2". Just scroll down to it and add your sig to the Confirmation list. An arbitrator will help shortly. --Gp75motorsports 19:25, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Giove's multiple violation of RFARB decisions
Hi, Direktore.
Giove has made multiple violations, he hasn't violated the RFARB decisions on one article only (Ruđer Bošković), but also on some other articles.
You've asked me why I've said on the noticeboard "no admins' reaction yet"?
If you get me..is the punishment the same for:
- one violation/one case of one revert on one article
- more violations/more case, of more revert actions, on more articles, even when he was reported to admins because of his behaviour?
They have to know that we have a lot of problems with him.
Giove still:
- reverts
- ignores the talkpages
- if he ever "talks", he talks through "comment" or if he by some miracle somehow appears on the talkpage, all he say is "my edits are referenced". He never discusses it.
- he still shows persistent anti-Croat attitude by removing or lessening the connections of certain subject with Croats and Croatia, replacing it with some amorphous adjectives (although the science has shown that these subjects belong to Croatian culture), or promoting his original works. However, these kind of edits are cultural chauvinism (e.g., Croatian and Italian science says about Mikalja's dictionary as Croatian-Italian-Latin, but Giove persists on removing "Croatian").
Sincerely, Kubura 08:12, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Ustaše
Can you delete in article Ustaše category:Political parties in Croatia. It is stupid but I do not know where it is writen so for me is not possible to delete. --Rjecina 23:27, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Problem is solved. User:Esemono has created table on 4 october which has given to article "wrong" category.
User:Justiceinwiki and all his socks are blocked forever on wiki. If you see his puppets you know what to do. For you information until now we know his 11 puppets [1] . This weekend he has created new puppet which has been blocked. --Rjecina 17:41, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
I have writen message to user:Esomono so he can solve problem which he has created. In reality I do not trust in that because he has made POV WWII map of Yugoslavia (see my comment on talk page User talk:Esemono about Balkan animation 1800-2006) but I have tried ... --Rjecina 19:24, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Problem with the pic
That's because of template "location map". It generates that problem. Try other picture. Compare it with the Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. There's normally input of mapsize, and no annoying text in the infobox. However, in that infobox, no template "location map" was inserted. Kubura (talk) 09:27, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

- :D Thanx. Besides Split, at one time or another I spent a lot of time in Milan, LA, Zagreb and Riva del Garda, so I think I can safely say I don't have any excessively irrational infatuations concerning my birthplace, but while most of those places (sans Zagreb, I fear :) were much more beautiful, Split really does have a uniquely attractive culture and mentality. This is (mostly) because of the combination of the Slavic and Mediterranean (Italian) culture.

Response to post on Gp75motorsports's page
I'm not going to have a conversation on someone else's talkpage, so I'm responding here. How is it that when I ask two people to please stop riling each other up, I'm somehow "taking someone's side"? How many times have I been accused of being on one side or another in this dispute now? The fact that I'm apparently both an Italian POV sympathizer and Croatian POV sympathizer, depending on who is making the accusation, should be evidence enough of my neutrality. I'm not on anybody's side... but I don't want to see pointless arguments where editors are starting to accuse each other of malfeasance or branding each other "vandals", "sockpuppets" or "trolls". That rhetoric isn't helpful to anyone in any situation, least of all this one. I sincerely fail to see how asking two editors to cool it and leave each other alone is taking sides in any sort of debate. If anyone involved in the arbitration case is going against the remedies... report them. Additionally, please allow User:Gp75motorsports to walk away from this situation per my recommendation to him. This is as much for his own good as anyone else's.--Isotope23 talk 21:08, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Reply re: Leo & Giovanni
Yeah, I'm aware of all of that. I've been reading the logs. The message to them both this evening is an honest attempt to discuss rather than just edit war. We'll see. You noticed that Leo seems to be trying to rein Giovanni back a bit, asking him to be patient? AlasdairGreen27 (talk) 21:20, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Regarding your response to the thing I wrote on Giovanni's talk page this afternoon, which sadly he's deleted - what I wrote was
Well, Giovanni, your admission that "I do not know the Slovenian geography" is surely sufficient reason for you to avoid removing material about Slovenian geography from articles, wouldn't you say?
Are there perhaps any evening classes in your local area you could attend? I'm sure they would be very helpful, and excellent value for money.
AlasdairGreen27 (talk) 21:37, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
The accusation
He's accusing you of creating his sockpuppetry page. I tried to let him in on the fact that the system automatically creates these pages, even if it does carry the "Nonexistent page" tag, but apparently he doesn't believe experienced editors like you and me. --Gp75motorsports (talk) 21:49, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

I don't think that LEO is Giove, come to think about it. LEO is actually acting kind to a good-faith editor. BTW, can you provide me with a translation of LEO's last edit on Giove's page? I've been eager to know what that means. --Gp75motorsports (talk) 01:28, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

He'd have really enjoyed that one. AlasdairGreen27 21:22, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
-
- We didn't have to wait too long. He's really obsessed. He simply cannot help himself.
- Here comes Giove again: [2] as IP 87.9.234.27 then [3] as IP 87.2.235.167 and... Well can you remember his a few months-obsessive-name of Zadar-edit warring? And here it is [4] and [5] as IP 87.2.63.34. Zenanarh 01:25, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

-
- I'm not Giove, I'm not interested in his edit wars (I will never revert again the articles about Zadar, I simply believed that the most common name in English history books should be used in those articles, but it's not so important). 87.9.236.57 08:55, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Re: Partisans. No probs. :-)
If Giovanni's using a proofreader to clean up his English and thus disguise his edits, he needs to find a better one:
No document links directly a man called Marco Polo or Marc Pol or Marko Polo or Marko Pilich lived between the thirteenth and the fourteenth century with the town of Curzola, except the one that says he was took as prisoner during the Battle of Curzola.
Evening classes for both of them, I'd suggest.
AlasdairGreen27 07:31, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Right now he's edit warring over on his talk page, as you've probably noticed. Too busy, therefore, for much editing, I hope. I'll be happy to keep an eye out for him. This one's gonna run and run... AlasdairGreen27 11:48, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I'll do whatever I can.
So far, he's removed the weekend's discussion of his activities from his talk page three times. I've put it back twice. I'll leave it for now, for fear of appearing unreasonable. I suspect other users may wish to restore it, tho... AlasdairGreen27 12:28, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

- See [7]. You've been mentioned. Kubura (talk) 15:14, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
-
- Yeah, I see it. Cherso is an "exile", he may be even more radical than Giove...
-
- I for one, am certainly not part of any "organized group", nor am I "centered" on anybody. If anyone has been doing the provoking, its User:Giovanni Giove with his hundreds of undiscussed, badly written edits and reverts. The only reason he even got banned in the first place is that he underestimated the willingness of the community to enforce its restrictions. He totally ignored the findings of the ARBCOM and he got banned. Its not a question of provoking Giove, he simply did not take any notice of the restriction at all, as is evident from his block log.
- All (or most) of the attacked "Serbocroatian users" are from the region of Dalmatia, and their interest in these matters may be considered normal, however, Giove and "the exiles", are a group of people who decend from Italians that left the region. It may be assumed that their emmigration (certainly not as drammatic as the title "exile" would suggest) forced them to endure hardship, wich left them quite BIASED in these matters. It is understandable that an NPOV cannot really be expected from these guys, isn't it? This is why expressions such as "balance" are simply an (obvious) clever way to make uninvloved Wikipedians oversimplify the matter and support a continuous edit-war with these radicals. --DIREKTOR (TALK) 21:03, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Well, the med-school-exam-hell is over so I'm gonna get back to being active on Wiki,... --DIREKTOR (TALK) 04:12, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Good to see you're back. How were your exams? Not much going on recently. GG is back though, calling himself User:Marygiove. He was editing off an IP for a while, just calling himself Mary, but has now opened this account. Unless of course it's not him... PIO is mostly involved with sports articles these days, including several attempts to insist that football isn't the most popular sport in the world. The rest of the sorry bunch are quiet. PANONIAN got annoyed about Kosovo's independence and quit, but is now back, calling himself User:Pannonicus and accusing Zen of Croatian nationalism. AlasdairGreen27 (talk) 08:32, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
The exams? I'm still on therapy trying to overcome the trauma ;), but I passed most of them and that's what counts I suppose... I was also on vacation in Italy for a time so its been a pretty busy period for me. Anyway, Giove is back? His unique style ought to be instantly recognizable if that's true. While Serbs are pretty riled up with the secession and all (I have to say I sympathize), I can't imagine this would translate to the Italian conflict... Zen a nationalist? That's a laugh, I think I ought to get involved so they can find some other more believable target for that favorite accusation ;) --DIREKTOR (TALK) 14:33, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

- As you can see nothing is changed, I'm little bit tired of these Italian fascistoids and fanatics, but what really makes me mad is how some neutral people from "civilised" Europe perceive us. We are all Balkan idiots and similar. But Balkan is not the same everywhere, they don't know it. Sometimes I have no better idea than to invite them to come here to Dalmatia so they could see one of the places where that modern European civilisation began. I'm also little bit tired because of my job so my contributions are minimalized recently. Glad to see you again. Zenanarh (talk) 19:34, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Incredible, its like I never even left in the first place! Its like I said with these nationalist Italians, they think of themselves as superior "renaissance-like" civilized European gentlemen (even though most can't even write in English), while we are primitive "barbarians" who slaughter each-other constantly and reproduce at an alarming rate, so as to swamp the "builders of Dalmatian culture", the Venetians, out of their lands. What they cannot realize is that despite their (economically oppressive) rule, the Croats (i.e. Slavs) always formed the overwhelming majority in Dalmatia, ever since the fall of the Roman Empire (of which Italy is hardly the successor-state).
Wikipedia is simply unable to combat these people, and the like. They are obviously the "aggressors" here, with their strong sympathizing with irredentism, but Italians are much "closer" culturally to Americans (and the British) so the thing is "evened out". --DIREKTOR (TALK) 03:00, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi. It looks like today you've moved the text of several articles by cut&paste, instead of using the "Move this page" function to rename them (see Help:Moving a page). This is a bad thing, because it breaks the edit history of the article. Compare Revision history of Sixth anti-partisan offensive with that of Sixth anti-Partisan offensive. As an admin, I can merge the histories of these articles, but are there only these half-dozen or so, or do I need to go back further? If so, could you help me by listing the names of the articles?

Tomislav II
I had to undo your copy and paste move on the Tomislav II because it lost the page history. For renaming articles without losing the page history see Help:Moving a page though I suggest if you want the Tomislav II article moved you should put it through Wikipedia:Requested moves because the last attempt failed and moving unilaterally might prove controversial. - dwc lr (talk) 21:35, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Preferences
Hi DIREKTOR, just wanted to give you a heads-up. It seems that all of your edits are being flagged as "minor" m edits, no matter what you do. This is probably being caused by a checkbox in your preferences. To change it, click on "my preferences" at the top of the page, then the "editing tab" and uncheck the box that says "mark all edits minor by default". Just FYI, Elonka 03:08, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
