Directorate General of Forces Intelligence

The Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) is Bangladesh's one of the main intelligence agencies. Along with the National Security Intelligence (NSI) these two agencies are presumably the main components of the country's intelligence community.

This organization's head quarter is located in Bangladesh at Dhaka Cantonment (14 Storied Building beside Kachukhet Bazar). The headquarter is also known as a key installation. This Directorarte General (DG) directly reports to the Prime Minister. The agency has also some hidden facility(centre)in the country. Most of them are detention and interrogation centre. The agency has around ten thousand field officer and 64 district based office. The high ranked official are recruited from the armed forces. The Directorate General has seven different bureaus through which it carries out the directives of the government. The present Director General of DGFI is Major General Golam Mohammad Psc, who replaced Major General Sadiq Hasan Rumi whom is preceded by major general ASM Nazrul Islam,Ndu,Psc.

It is assumed that both directorates have five indivual and three combined desk.

It was created by then bangladeshi leader Ziaur Rahaman in 1977.

The agency is structured by its own rights. The director general of the agency is a Major General. He is assisted by seven Director each are Brigreder General or equivalent.
