Directive on the energy performance of buildings

The Directive on the energy performance of buildings (EPBD) is the Directive 2002/91/EC (EPBD, 2003) of the European Parliament and Council on energy efficiency of buildings.
The Directive came into force on 4th January 2003 and had to be implemented by the EU Member States at the latest on 4 January 2006.

[edit] EPBD Buildings Platform

The EPBD Buildings Platform has been launched by the European Commission in the frame of the Intelligent Energy – Europe, 2003-2006 programme, as the central resource of information on the EPBD.
The Platform comprises databases with publications, events, standards and software tools. Interested organisations or individuals can submit events and publications to the databases.
A high number of Information papers (link) are relatively short papers (typical length of 2 to 8 pages). Their main purpose is to inform a wide range of people of the status of work in a specific area.
A helpdesk (link) with list of frequently asked questions and the possibility to ask individual questions.
