Talk:Dior (Middle-Earth)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dior is also the name of the cosmetics company owned by Christian Dior. I think this meaning should probably get precedence over a minor Middle Earth reference.

But his names is Christian Dior, not just Dior. I don't much care either way, as long as anyone who changes it fixes the referring links and there is some disambiguation so the Middle-earth character can be found. Jor 16:09, 10 Feb 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Need help on Dior

(from the village pump)

User:Ausir has changed Dior into a disambig page, but alas did so by copy-pasting all text into Dior (Middle-earth). Is it possible to move the edit history for Dior to Dior (Middle-earth)? I've left a (hopefully friendly) note at his user talk page explaining about the 'Move this page' feature. (This was written by user:Darkelf who didn't sign --Sennheiser!)

I intend to move this page to Dior (Middle earth) unless someone comes up with a convincing reason why not, and turn this page into a redirect. Despite the popularity of Tolkien, most people will associate the name with the company Dior. Google search for Dior (without Christian) gives sixty entries before it gets to the first Middle-Earth based one. I realise this is going to mean a lot of fixing of redirects, but I think its the right way to go. DJ Clayworth 15:12, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)

A disambig would be better. Ausir 19:26, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)
