Born in Piedmont, Countess Diodata Saluzzo Roero (1774-1840) was an Italian poet.

Widely admired by her contemporaries, she served as the inspiration for the protagonist in Anne Louise Germaine de Staël's 1807 Corinne.[1]

Roero was one of the first women admitted to the Academy of Arcadia in 1795[1], and the following year released her first collection of poems.[2]
