Diocese of Bùi Chu

The diocese of Bùi Chu (Latin, Dioecesis Buichuensis) is a Roman Catholic diocese of Vietnam. The bishop is Joseph Hoàng Van Tiem, S.D.B., since 2001.

The creation of the diocese in present form was declared November 24, 1960.

The diocese covers an area of 1,350 km², and is a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Hanoi.

By 2004, the diocese of Bùi Chu had about 380,130 believers (28.4% of the population), 58 priests and 129 parishes.[1]

Queen of the Rosary Cathedral in Xuan Ngoc town (Nam Dinh Province) has been assigned as the Cathedral of the diocese.[2]
