[edit] Emmalina's AfD

I hate to bite a newbie, but the thing is even though the AfD was closed in June, the article can STILL be resubmitted at any time for another AfD. There are articles that have gone through 5 AfD nominations. You have no right removing such nomiation plates.--Brian (How am I doing?) 14:29, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Ah my apology then. We have had a rash of vanadlisms over the last couple weeks on all YT related articles and I made a mistake and thought your's was also part of that. --Brian (How am I doing?) 05:25, 21 August 2006 (UTC)From User talk:Bschott.
One article has been AfDd 17 times :-) Just zis Guy you know? 23:04, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism Warning 1

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. --Brian (How am I doing?) 14:29, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Various AfDs

You advocated that a few articles should be redirected to the radio station. This is a good idea, or you could (if you have a few minutes) merge them to a "people" article for the station(s). Be bold!. Just zis Guy you know? 23:02, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thomas Lee

I think you moved the original Thomas Lee to Thomas Lee (army captain). This messes up quite a few links in other pages, and was done without discussion. I want it to be reversed, so it's up for review here. Thanks.--Shtove 15:08, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. I moved your Thomas Lee to Thomas Lee (Virginia colonist), expecting I could move my TL back to his original spot - can't be done, which is why I referred to the administrators. Disambiguation page is good - I'm sure there are many notable TL's. I see you made the effort to change existing links - but there's a certain way of doing this. Better to discuss beforehand. Thanks.--Shtove 00:23, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your comment on Invisible Robot Fish's rfa.

I just noticed the two comments (uno dos) that you made on Invisible Robot Fish's rfa. Firstly, when it is obvious that an rfa is not going to pass, there is no need to add another oppose - see WP:SNOWBALL. Many people, including me, have made the mistake of piling on opposes until the rfa is closed early or withdrawn by the candidate, but there is no need. Nextly, your second edit came after the close of the rfa; it says "please do not edit" up there at the top for a reason, even if you would like to retract or change your earlier comment. I hope you will take this into consideration before commenting on another rfa. Picaroon9288 00:39, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Peer review

Howdy-- you didn't do the last steps so that Thomas Lee could be peer reviewed, so I did it for you, but it probably means you don't have it on your watch list so thought I should let you know I reviewed it and review can be found here --plange 03:45, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mr. Lefty's RfA thanks

Hi, Dinosaur puppy, and thanks for your comments in my recent request for adminship, which succeeded with a final tally of 70/4/4. I hope I can live up to your expectations, and if there's ever anything you need, you know where to find me! --Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 00:16, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nishkid64's RfA thanks

Thank you very much for participating in my RfA, which closed successfully earlier today with a result of (60/9/4). Although, I encountered a few problems in my RfA, I have peacefully resolved my conflicts and made amends with the people involved. If you have any further questions or suggestions, feel free talk to me. I hope I will live up to your expectations. --Nishkid64 22:14, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bangla?

Hi, I noticed that your signature contained Bangla letters, so I was wondering if you speak/write Bangla and whether you are a Bengali. If you do speak/write Bangla, please do look into Bengali wikipedia which is rapidly growing at a fast pace. Thanks. --Ragib 20:43, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Ha ha, that explains the random letters I see in Bengali unicode script ... I see that you were using "Fantasy" as the font face, and I guess my browser doesn't have that, and instead used characters from the unicode script planes (so I see ঞ জউচ, which is really a random collection of Bangla letters). :) --Ragib 21:28, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes, it does show up as T REX now. --Ragib 21:30, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] You're too kind

Thanks for your comments. I guess it's come through years of slog-editing, and my luck to have dabbled with cognitive psychology and functional grammar. Cheers Tony 02:00, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Is this article about you?

Yeah, that's me :). Ha ha, didn't know about the article ... so thanks for pointing this out. I am an admin and bureaucrat in Bangla wikipedia, and have been working on it for the last 6 months ... having increased article counts from 500 to 11500+ in the last 6 months. Also I'm trying to organize a very loosely knit group of people all across the world to work on it ... Anyway, Bengali is spoken by a huge number of people (we're sort of the most densely populated region in the world, the fertile land is to blame!!), and it is the 7th largest in terms of native speakers. So, definitely, we need to reflect that in our Internet presence, which, due to very slow / non-existant Internet connections in Bangladesh, was hampered to a great extent in the past.

Thanks again for pointing that out to me :) --Ragib 01:18, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Section headings are not necessary for single paragraphs of related text, in adition to looking silly the diet heading broke up the text unnecessarily. See this for more information on article layout. --Peta 22:56, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RfA thanks

Thank you for participating in my RfA, which passed with a tally of 66/11/5. I learned quite a bit during the process, and I expect to be learning a lot more in the days ahead. As I stated in the request itself, I respect your decision to oppose me based on my short tour of duty, but I hope I can earn your trust. I will be taking things slowly (and doing a lot of re-reading), but please let me know if there is anything I can do to improve in my new capacity. -- Merope Talk 13:55, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

T-Rex, thank you so much for your support for my RfA. I passed with a vote tally of 61/0/1. I am honored that the consensus was to allow me the added privilege of the admin mop. I appreciate your support and kind words on my RFA! --plange 23:09, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 48 hours

On Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John Wayne (rapper), you stated that the article couldn't be speedily deleted because it was older than 48 hours old. However, after a brief search on Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, I see no such restriction. (full disclosure: I recently edited that page, but it was for an unrelated section[1]) EVula 22:54, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Achaia Football Clubs

I saw your comments in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Achaia Football Clubs Association and I want to tell you that I strongly agree with you. The guys there told me that I am anti-Greek and it only has no interest by me. How ever what I see all the foreigns who came supported its deletion. However, after they saw that they had no support, they coaliated and together agreed to find more Greeks to save the article, eventhough the non-Greeks do not want it (see contributions of FocalPoint, user:Tony esopi patra and more specifically of Georgeg). I would like from you if you could help and bring more people to vote DELETE because in wikipedia there will be an article eventhough is unimportant because some Greeks feel so patriotic to have stupid information in wikipedia (not a coincidence that they called me Anti-Greek). Hello,

I wrote a german version of the article about the himalaya bear but I cannot use your picture because the fair use license isn't valid on the german wikipedia. Can you please re-distribute it under the GPL or upload it ad commons.wikipedia.org? --de:GoaSkin

[edit] JMU as "B-Class"

Could you provide an explanation for why the article about James Madison University was rated B-Class, such as on that article's talk page or somewhere? We're tossing around the idea of going for featured with it, and while the rating is helpful, the rationale for it would be something better to go on and run with. SchuminWeb (Talk) 17:26, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! SchuminWeb (Talk) 20:22, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks, but breathe :)

Thank you for putting that information back into the article on Ed Felten - I think it is better with the biography back in. However, writing in the edit summary 'RV VANDAL' was probably not the correct way to put back information that had been removed without controversy a month ago, with several people editing the article in the intervening time. The article is one that I watch, and if your edit summary had said 'Restoring information that was removed for no good reason a month ago' I would have probably glanced at it without question, but with the edit summary that you left I felt it was necessary to go back over the last month of edits to see what you were responding with such seeming urgency to.

So thank you for your work, but a calmer edit summary would have saved me, and possibly others, some worry and some work. :) Cheers! Sirmob 05:12, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Funckarma

The article sat there for six days at AFD and nobody (except the nominator) concurred that it should be deleted. If you want it reconsidered, it's probably easier for you to do a second AFD than for me to un-close it and move it forward. Thanks, NawlinWiki 19:34, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

    • I have removed the prod tag added to this article following the closure of Afd. WP:PROD states "Articles that have been previously proposed for deletion or undeleted, or discussed on AfD, are clearly contested and are not candidates for prod". I have no strong feeling regarding the article in question but I have very strong feelings as regards due process. Ac@osr 13:14, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
    • Also, there's no need to clutter up the AfD page by listing out the WP:MUSIC criteria--the wikilink to WP:MUSIC will usually suffice. --Alan Au 22:27, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi T Rex. I wanted to thank you with flowers (well, flower) taking the time to participate in my RfA, which was successful. I regret that I was unable to earn your support at this time, but I respect that you gave due consideration to your comments. You can be assured I have taken your concerns seriously and will bear them in mind in future. Though I can't promise I'll change my moral perspective, I can assure you I'll continue to provide full reasoning for any decisions I make here at WP, with the sole aim of bettering the project. Please do let me know if I can be of assistance and especially if you spot me making an error in future. Many thanks once again. Yours, Rockpocket 08:17, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
