[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Goldfinger.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Goldfinger.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 06:36, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Goldfinger.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Goldfinger.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:32, 1 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 09:32, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Nocturnal Rites - The Sacred Talisman.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Nocturnal Rites - The Sacred Talisman.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:55, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] St. Croix image
Hello, Dinomite. I see that back in June you reverted an edit to the Image:St croix usvi.jpg. In case you hadn't noticed the original image was upsidedown and the edit actually flipped the image so that north at least appeared on the top. You reverted to original image without explaining why or without saying anything in the discussion page of the image or the article it is associated with. You probably did this in error, assuming that the person who did the edit was vandalizing the image, but they were actually correcting the image. So would you re-reverting the image?72.27.58.165 21:39, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- I had reverted the image because it had been lossily rotated. I losslessly rotated the image and re-uploaded it. --dinomite 22:28, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Franklin School
Hi. You started an article on a Franklin School that does not include any useful information, including the city it is in, the reason why its notable, or any categorization. Please attend to this as soon as possible. Thanks. • Freechild'sup? 23:43, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 129.21.60.122
The 129.21.* IP jumped out at me when I was browsing unblock requests, and I figured I'd give it a look. See User talk:129.21.60.122#Unblocked after investigation :) --krimpet✽ 19:58, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the fix. The machine in question is a TOR node that I run on CSH. If you haven't been up to CSH, go check it out; it's full of smart people who are (mostly) friendly and inviting. Unfortunately, that's as welcoming as I can be because I graduated last year and am no longer in the Rochester area. --dinomite (talk) 20:25, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Zvents
A tag has been placed on Zvents requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Redfarmer (talk) 02:29, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
