Dinting

Dinting is a district of Glossop in Derbyshire, England. It is notable for the massive structure of the Dinting Arches, part of the Glossop Line which goes as far as Manchester Piccadilly railway station, and also for Dinting Railway Museum, (Bahamas Locomotive Society) which closed in 1991. It is now based at Ingrow West near Keighley, West Yorkshire. At its peak, the museum used to feature visits by such famous railway engines as LNER Class A3 4472 Flying Scotsman, The Mallard, and Blue Peter (Locomotive)[1].
Dinting is also a mining term used to describe the removal of parts of the floor which lift due to floor heave.
The village is served by Dinting railway station.
