[edit] Book synopsis
- Dinosaur Planet - THE MISSION: The Exploratory and Evaluation Corps of the Federted Sentient Planets had sent ARTC-10, with it mixed crew of hibred and planetbound technicians to Ireta to catalogue fauna and flora and search for new energy sources. It was a simple mission. A standard crew. THE PROBLEM: Kai and his beautiful co-leader Varian, the best xenob-vet in the business, followed all the standard procedures but the results of their investigations were totally unexpected. Not only were the planet's creatures larger than anyone had anticipated and the geological finds smaller, but the rescue ship had inexplicably disappeared. THE NIGHTMARE: Then suddenly on a world of giant swamp creatures and deadly predators, a curious change had come over many of the members of the ARCT-10 crew..a change that would lead all of them, in one way or another, into the primitive darkness of a future world.
- Dinosaur Planet Survivors - Kai and Varian spent forty years in coldsleep, hiding from the mutineers who had taken over the planet Ireta. But when they woke, the mutineers were still around and had sired two genertions of ornery descendants! Worse yet, space pirates were on their way to join the illegal colony. Then a huge group of alien Theks, intent on some cryptic purpose of their own, appeared unexpectedly. Kai and Varian were determined to save the planet and its unusual dinosaurs. All they had to do was solve the myriad mysteries of Ireta and gain the trust of the most dangerous beings in their Universe. Not an easy task, at best!
- Sassinak - Sassinak was twelve when the raiders came. That made her just the right age: old enough to be used, young enough to be broken. But Sassinak turned out to be a little different from your typical slave girl. And finally, she escaped. But that was only the beginning for Sassinak. Now she's a fleet captain with a pirate-chasing ship of her own, and only one regret in life: not enough pirates.
- The Death of Sleep - Like every other citizen of the Federation of Sentient Planets, Lunzie Mespil knew the so called "planet pirates" were capable of terrible things. But -- also like every other citizen of the Federation -- she never in her heart of hearts believed anything would happen to her... When a meteor hits the space liner on which she is a passenger Lunzie didn't panic. She kept her head, made it to a lifeboat and she isn't too worried; she will spend a month or two in cryogenic stasis awaiting inevitable rescue, and then proceed with her life. Only it might not be a month or two... Lunzie was a healer and all she wanted in life was a chance to make things better for others. But she was getting the feeling that she was particularly marked by fate: every ship she served on ran in trouble en she ended up in coldsleep. When she went to the Dinosaur Planet she thought the curse was lifted -- but there she met a long-lost relative named Sassinak who'd make her life much more complicated...
- Generation Warriors - Lunzie, fresh from her adventures in The Death of Sleep, has discovered that the one good heavyworlder she ever met isn't so good after all... Fordeliton, sent off to investigate the connection between the super-rich and the planet pirates, is now dying of a mysterious slow poison. His aunt's spiritual advisor wants to give him her "special cure". Dupaynil, having made the mistake of pushing Sassinak too far, has been exiled to Seti space aboard a tiny escort vessel -- where he's discovered that the crew are in the pay of the planet pirates... Aygar, the idealistic young Iretan, is out to prove he has brains as well as heavyworlder brawn... but there are plenty who'd like to blow them out before he can learn to use them. Then there's Sassinak, ordered to report to FedCentral for the trial of the mutineer Tanegli. She'd been told to disarm her ship when it enters restricted space; she'd been told her crew can't have liberty or leave; and she'd been told to follow all the rules. You remember Sassinak... the only person who might be able to stop the disaster ahead has never been one to follow the rules...
