Dinomischus

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dinomischus is a rare fossil animal from the Cambrian period. It was 20mm high, attached to the sea floor by a stalk, and overall had a flower-like appearance. The cup-shaped body at the top of the stalk probably fed by filtering the surrounding seawater, and may have created a current to facilitate this.[1]

Its mouth and anus sat next to one another, and it closely resembles a sunflower, although, as above stated, it was an animal.
