Dingwall Academy

Dingwall Academy is the largest secondary school in the Highlands of Scotland, with (November 2006) 1005 pupils. Originally built in the 1930s many additions to the school have been made throughout the years. It is situated in the centre of Dingwall and brings in pupils from the Conon Bridge, Maryburgh, Muir of Ord, Strathpeffer and the surrounding area.
The Schools motto is the Latin "Salve Corona" which translates as "Welcome the crown"

The School provides a wide range of subjects in the following departments
Business and Computing; Creative and Aesthetic; English and RMPS; Health and Nutrition; Languages; Mathematics; Sciences; Social Subjects.

In 2005 it was decided a new school should be built as the current building is falling into disrepair and incurs high maintenance costs. The new school building is situated outside the current school in the old sports field. Building began in mid-2005 and a completion date of 12 May 2008 has been agreed.
