Dinakaran

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dinakaran is daily Tamil newspaper published from the major cities in Tamil Nadu, India. It was started by Former DMK [[leader] K.P. Kandasamy. It was bought out in 2005 by the SUN TV group which is owned by Kalanidhi Maran, the son of former Union Minister Murasoli Maran.

Dinakaran recently ran into a controversy when it published the results of a series of opinion polls which showed politician M. K. Stalin having more approval than his elder brother M. K. Azhagiri. The Madurai office of Dinakaran was fire bombed and three employees were killed[1]. This led to the resignation of Central Minister Dayanidhi Maran, brother of Kalanidhi Maran from the Union Cabinet and his removal as a member of the DMK.[2]
