Dinamalar (literally, daily bloom) Tamil daily was launched at Thiruvanthapuram on 6 September 1951.
Dinamalar runs ten Editions from Tirunelveli (1957), Tiruchi (1966), Chennai (1979), Madurai (1980), Erode (1984), Puducherry (1991), Coimbatore (1992), Vellore (1993), Nagercoil (1996) and Salem (2000).
As per Alexa Rating, Dinamalar was the No.1 Website in Tamil [1]. The web site dinamalar.com attracted over 202,000 visitors in 2008 according to a Compete.com survey [2]. It gives news India as well as happenings abroad. Besides providing political news, it also provides insight on religious matters. The Sunday paper is famous for providing religious and health tips and a special section for kids focusing on science and technology.
