About his party membership: I had been guessing that he was a member of one or each of the two parties, but could not find relevant info up to now. Hitchins, in Romania. 1866-1944 mentions him among the intellectuals in the Peasants' Party (Humanitas, 1998; p.387), and he remained with the PNT given that he served as minister under Vaida and Maniu.
