[edit] Personal

Dimitris is the elder brother of fellow Greek basketball star Vassilis Spanoulis [2], a member of the Greek National Team, who currently plays for Panathinaikos BC and formerly played for the NBA's Houston Rockets. Dimitris competed against Vasileios in the ULEB Cup competition in 2005 when he played for Makedonikos BC and his younger brother Vasileios played for Maroussi BC. In European basketball the two are nicknamed "The Spanoulis Brothers".[3]
