Dimitrije Basicevic

Dimitrije Bašičeviċ (Born 1921 in Šid, Serbia, died 1987 in Zagreb, Croatia) was an artist, critic and curator, working under the pseudonym Mangelos. He made handmade books,[1] sculptures and paintings.

He was co-founder and director of Gallery of Primitive Art in Zagreb. Later he became the director of Centre for Film, Photography and TV. Mangelos shared his anti-art ideas with the Gorgona group.[2]

His works are held in the collection of the Tate.[3]
