Dimitri Payet (born March 29, 1987 in Saint-Pierre, Réunion) is a French soccer player, currently playing for AS Saint-Étienne in Ligue 1, after having previously played for Le Havre in Ligue 2 and for SS Excelsior in Réunion. Payet scored his first Ligue 1 goal in the 2005/06 season against FC Metz. Payet has played for the French under-21 team, after his first selection on November 9, 2006, in which an injury ruled him out of the game. On his first match for the under-21s, Payet set up one goal, and in his second game for the Blueuets he scored 2 goals.
