Dimitar Stratev

Dimitar Stratev (Bulgarian: Димитър Стратев) (born 6 August 1982) is a Bulgarian alpine ski racer and ski coach. Specialist in speed disciplines (Downhill and Super Giant Slalom), Stratev proved himself as the most successful Bulgarian ski racer of all time. His early career started in his hometown club Rodopa, Smolyan. In 1997 he became part of Italian Sierra Ski Club. With an Italian passport and under the name of Demetrio Fiorini, he won 24 medals in FIS races in 1998-2002 (6 gold, 10 silver, 8 bronze). In season 1999 Stratev finished 4th in the European Youth Cup. Stratev ended his career after a knee injury in 2002.
