Dimitar Paskov

Dimitar Paskov (Bulgarian: Димитър Пасков) is the chemist who led the Sopharma team that extracted Nivalin (Galantamine) for first time somewhere in 1959. That is an original phytopreparation produced with a technology for extraction of the alkaloid Galantamine from the bulbs of the plant snowdrops (Leucojum aestivum). Galantamine is the active ingredient in Nivalin.

Galantamine hydrobromide (Nivalin) has empirical formula C17H21NO3.HBr and molecular weight 386.3.
