Dimethylbutane

Dimethylbutanes are a pair alkanes, isomeric with hexane, which consist of butane substituted with two methyl groups. Dimethylbutanes have the chemical formula of C₆H₁₄, identical to hexane.

The two structurally different alkanes which can be named as dimethylbutane are:

• 2,2-Dimethylbutane
• 2,3-Dimethylbutane
