Dime Museum Dolls

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dime Museum Dolls is the solo effort of drummer and multi-instrumentalist Ant Reckart (aka - Anthony Reckart, A Wolfgang R) with the help of Ant's wife Jena Reckart. Dime Museum Dolls was formed in 2002 after the demise of the band Ashes Of Grisum; with whom Ant played drums and mandolin on the Ashes of Grisum album "Spirit and the Flesh". In Dime Museum Dolls, Ant not only plays drums but also all guitars, keyboards, mandolin, and banjo. Jena plays bass and shares vocal duties with Ant. All songs are written by the duo.

A five song EP, entitled "E Ticket", was recorded in 2005 with producer Mark Mirando (who sang backing vocals on Ringo Starr's albums "Ringo-Rama" and "Choose Love"). On "E Ticket", Mark sang backing vocals on 3 songs and played keyboards on all. Drums tracks were performed by Tracy Moll. According to DimeMuseumDolls.com, the duo are currently recording numerous songs in their home studio for independent release.

Ant Reckart was the drummer for the Genitorturers on the 1993 IRS Records release "120 Days of Genitorture". Ant re-teamed up with former Genitorturers bassist Sean Colpoys and guitarist Jerry Outlaw in 1999 to form the band Universal Baby with Jeremy Thomas (of Basic Rock Outfit) providing vocals. Universal Baby also ended in 2002 and like Ashes of Grisum was an upcoming band in the Central Florida / Bay Area music scene. Both efforts garnered local accolades and awards from 2000 through 2002.
