[edit] Nominating this article for deletion

This article does not meet the notability requirements of wikipedia. Although Miss. Marin is undoubtedly talented she has not achieved anything significant within the field of opera that would warrant an article on her. She has won no major competitions or worked with any substantially important opera companies. This page is an attempt at free PR as opposed to a legitimate encyclopedia article.Nrswanson (talk) 23:19, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

She's performing in Toulouse at the moment. I would have thought that was just about sufficiently notable. -- Kleinzach (talk) 01:42, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
I visited her website - For someone very young like her, she has an impressive repertoire. But can someone verify whether the list is true or not, other than that, the locations of the performance are as important as the “total number”. We also need to see her performance review (by expert of course). With all that info only we can determine whether she really fulfilled the criteria to be in here. This is just my opinion. - Jay (talk) 06:07, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

I've removed the PROD and rewritten and expanded the article and checked all the refs and the existence of the recording. She made quite a splash last summer as Amina in La sonnambula at the Festival Santander, where she has been singing since 2004. Multiple press coverage in major newspapers in Spain both before and after the prima, and apart from ABC, the reviews of her performance were very favourable. Also a highly favourable review of her recital debut there in 2004 from El Pais. I'm pretty sure both her debut recital and La sonnambula were broadcast on Spanish National Radio (RTVE), but have left this out until I can find a ref. There was also a cover story on her in the October 2007 issue of the Italian magazine Il Corriere del Teatro, which is a long established and respected publication in Italy. She's very young, but I think she just about meets the notability criteria.

One of the problems was the poor English and excessive hubris of the article's creator Bhangy, who should not have been listing her video in so many other articles, when there were far more prominent examples available. From what I can see, "Bhangy" runs Roberto Scandiuzzi's web site. (Check the credits at the bottom of the front page.)[1] Roberto Scandiuzzi is Rizzo Marin's father, and despite him not having an article here, he is a very prominent Italian bass-baritone.

I've also removed her repertoire list. It's really about the roles she's prepared, not necessarily sung on stage. Anyhow, if anyone still feels she doesn't meet the notability threshold, I'd suggest bringing it for an AfD. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 10:14, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
